The OCCFA model seeks to return forest land to old growth-like conditions while providing an abundance of resources to the local community.
It is our goal to work with areas of land large enough to keep entire ecosystems intact. The impact and constant pressure for development in Lincoln County can be minimized. Instead of fractionalized forests, ultimately the people of Lincoln County will create a network of parcels, both big and small that will be linked in the form of a community forest.
We are forging cooperative relationships with City and County government along with private conservation groups such as the Lincoln County Land Legacy project, thus coordinating local conservation efforts.
We Focus On:
Forest land management that focuses on forest health, diversity and beauty
Returning forest land to old-growth like conditions
Conservation ownership of local forest land
Cooperative partnerships with other conservation organizations and government bodies
Sustainable jobs empowering local economy
Forest health education
Management and human activity can be beneficial to forest land
High quality forest products
For generations to come, OCCFA will nurture the diversity of nature and the quality of life for people who visit and live in Lincoln County
