Forest Park, Newport

We worked with the City of Newport to designate 80+ acres of spruce forest near the Aquatic Center as a park dedicated to education, restoration and recreation.  In February of 2012, the City designated this land as Forest Park. We followed up the Forest Park effort with a successful educational grant for $16,000 from the Oregon Community Foundation.  That grant began our learning forest program for local students using three sites in Forest Park.
